The next three weeks for the three area wrestling teams have been set as postseason begins this weekend with the Dual State Tournament in Enid.
Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association released the Class 3A and Class 5A brackets for this weekend’s action with Comanche drawing the No.1 seed and Marlow taking the No. 2 seed in 3A.
In the first round of action, Comanche will take on Bridge Creek starting at 4 p.m. Friday Feb. 14 on Mat 1.
The Outlaws will face Blackwell to start the first round of the Dual State Tournament and they will be on Mat 4 starting at 4 p.m. Friday Feb. 14.
Semi-finals will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 with both Marlow and Comanche not having a chance to see each other until the championship match as they are on opposite side of the brackets.
In Class 5A, the Demons are the No.3 seed in Class 5A and will take on Pryor in the first round of action at Dual State.
The two teams will face off starting at 6 p.m. Feb. 14 on Mat 3 with the semi-finals taking place at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 on Mat 4 where the Demons face off against the winner of El Reno and Skiatook.
Once Dual State is completed, the three teams will begin their march for individual regional titles and state titles.
The second weekend will be the Class 3A and Class 5A Regionals with the berth of the state tournament being on the line each weekend.
Comanche and Marlow will be heading together to the Class 3A West Regionals at Geary High School where the action starts Friday Feb. 21 and the action concludes the evening of the 22nd with the top five from each weight class making it to the State Tournament the next weekend.
Duncan will be at the Class 5A West Regionals which will be held in El Reno and the action begins Feb. 21. The finals take place on Feb. 22 with the top five of each weight class also getting the bid for the State Tournament.
The State Tournament this year will take place on Feb. 28 & Feb. 29 with the wrestle-in matches taking place at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the State Fairgrounds Arena in Oklahoma City.
First round for all the classes will begin at approximately 11 a.m. and last until around 3:30 p.m. before the second session begins that evening.
All the consolation side of the bracket will be wrestled first starting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and the semi-finals will start around 7:45 p.m. to end day one at the State Tournament.
Day two begins at 10:30 a.m. with the consolation semi-finals followed by the consolation finals starting at 12:45 p.m. Feb. 29.
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 29 for the finals of the State Tournament with the matches beginning around 6 p.m. Feb. 29 and finishing around 10 p.m. after all champions are crowned.
