Facing another conference rival, the Lady Outlaws and Outlaws spit games against Pauls Valley with the Marlow girls losing 39-36 and the Marlow boys winning 64-40 over the Panthers.
The first quarter of action saw the Lady Outlaws take a small lead with Judeah Valenzuela, Jenna Wade and Korie Kizarr scoring eight points compared to Pauls Valley’s four points.
The Lady Panthers would tie the ball game up with a 9-5 advantage in the second quarter as Dara Hunt scored two buckets for the Lady Outlaws and the other point coming from Whitney Wade.
The Lady Outlaws had their best quarter of the game scoring 16 points while getting three buckets from Kizarr and buckets from Carlie Payne, Jenna Wade, Madison Fitzhugh and Valenzuela.
Leading 29-24 at the end of three quarters of play, Pauls Valley scored 15 points compared to Marlow’s seven to take the lead and win the game sending the Lady Outlaws to a 12-9 season record.
Kizarr and Jenna Wade scored seven points apiece, Payne scored five points and Valenzuela led the scoring with nine points for the Lady Outlaws.
The second game of the day went to the boys after playing a close first half which saw the Outlaws use six different players scoring buckets for the team.
Jace Gilbert and Avery Payne hit three buckets while Jamison Holland and Seth Aguilera hit two buckets to lead 14-12 after one quarter of play.
Gilbert contributed one bucket in the second quarter along with Macoy Ramsey and Holland as the Panthers cut into the lead and tied it up at halftime at 20 apiece.
The Outlaws defense in the third quarter held Pauls Valley to four points while Gilbert had nine points, Blake Harris got two buckets along with Ramsey and Marlow was able to outscore the Panthers 19-4.
Harris got seven points in the fourth quarter, Ramsey got four points and Gilbert knocked down three shots for six points and a free throw to give the Outlaws the lead for good and the victory.
Gilbert led in scoring for the Outlaws with 21 points, Harris had 11 and Ramsey had 10 points for the three players in double figures.
Marlow has one more home game this week as they host Purcell with the Lady Outlaws playing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 13 and the boys following after at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 in Marlow.
