Julian Marroquin (20) runs through a hole on the way to one of his two touchdowns as the Outlaws led Purcell 56-0 at the end of the first half of action.

After completing the regular season with an undefeated 10-0 record, the Marlow Outlaws left no doubt in their playoff opener against the Purcell Dragons as they won 63-20 to advance to the second round next week.

Getting the ball first, the Outlaws only needed a few minutes to score as senior running back Julian Marroquin got the handoff and ran it in from 40 yards out to take the 7-0 lead over Purcell.

The Outlaws' defense came up with a big stop and forced a Purcell punt to get the ball back for their second possession, which didn’t disappoint the home fans as they saw the second score of the game.

This time, the Outlaws used the passing game as Jace Gilbert hit one of his favorite targets in Will Bergner from 15 yards out to give Marlow the 14-0 lead with 6:53 left to play in the first quarter.

The third drive saw a big passing touchdown on one play as Jace Gilbert found Bergner again. This time, Bergner scampered 55 yards for the score to give Marlow the 21-0 lead with 4:29 left in the first.

Marlow got the final score of the first quarter with Marroquin getting his second rushing touchdown as he ran in from 20 yards out to end the first quarter with the 28-0 lead.

The first play for the second quarter was a defensive play as Avery Payne got an interception to give possession back to the Outlaws.

Running down the field, the Outlaws got a rushing touchdown from Cole Hayes as he ran the ball in from six yards to take the 35-0 lead over Purcell.

Special teams got involved in the next score as Purcell punted the ball to Bergner who saw open field and ran it back for a touchdown to give Marlow the 42-0 lead in the second quarter.

It was a third connection midway through the second quarter as Jace Gilbert found his receiver in Bergner for 60 yards to score and give Marlow the 49-0 lead over Purcell.

The final touchdown for the first half for the Outlaws came on the running game as Brian Zhang ran the ball in from six yards out to put Marlow up 56-0 at the end of the first half.

Purcell got their first score of the game as Brodrick Smith found Titus Mason for the touchdown pass to give them the chance to cut into Marlows lead at 56-7.

To start out the fourth quarter, Cade Gilbert got a touchdown to add to the Outlaws' lead as he ran the ball in from six yards out to put Marlow up 63-7.

Purcell added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter with the Outlaws finishing the game by running the clock out and winning 63-20.

The Outlaws, now 11-0 on the season, will most likely host the second round of the playoffs and will face the winner of Chandler and Perry.
