The golf season is nearing its conclusion, and several area teams have qualified for regionals. However, other teams are winding down.

The Duncan Lady Demons won the Chickasha tourney at Winter Creek. Duncan shot a 335, while El Reno was second at 371. Altus placed third at 389, while Chickasha was fourth at 391. Lawton High came in fifth with a team total of 399.

DHS’ Jillian Gregston was the top finisher with a 77, while Morgan Totty tied for second with Priscilla Reyes of Altus at 82.

Sarah Harper placed seventh overall with an 86, while Rachel Graham shot 90 for ninth. Mackenzie Gray placed 10th after carding a 91. The Lady Demons’ Laura Clark shot a 98 as an individual.

DHS is at the regional tournament today in Altus.

Comanche’s Kinzie Reed qualified for the Class 2A regional tournament at Lake Murray Lodge. Reed made the cut with a 99.

On the boys’ side at Fort Cobb Golf Course, Velma-Alma finished second with a 339.

Ryan Miller and Cash Wheeler both shot an 81 for the Comets.

Central High just missed qualifying for the regional with a 369. Wilson Nease led the Bronchos with an 85, while Kyle Sallee shot 87. Michael Whisenhunt shot 98. Ryan Lawrence clubbed a 99, as did Cody Johnson.

Other teams at the regional included the Waurika Eagles (372) and the Ryan Cowboys (516).

Chris Moore shot 88 to lead Waurika, and Matt Henderson finished with a 91. Clyde Bryant finished with a 96, and Matt Wilkerson carded a 97. Jason Hobbs shot 101.
