Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys

Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys stand before their first Stephens County Tournament game. The group earned this week’s Xpress Wellness Team of the Week award.

In her first season as head coach for the Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys, Angela Robnett led her team to 10 victories and this week’s Xpress Wellness Team of the Week award.

The Lady Donkeys started the season with a 2-1 record after winning against Springer and Wayne before beating Fox in mid-December.

In their conference tournament, the Lady Donkeys earned their fourth win of the season by beating Paoli though they lost by one point in the semi-finals before dropping the third place game against Fox.

Late January is when the Lady Donkeys started to get their largest win streak of the season. They won five of their last six games, including two overtime victories.

Beating Rush Springs and Elmore City on the road in two overtime victories to end the regular season, the Lady Donkeys went to districts at Fletcher to play the Lady Wildcats.

In the win or go home game, the home Fletcher team beat the Lady Donkeys to end the season at 10-13 on the year though the team had several seniors and will also see several players returning next season.

The seniors for the Lady Donkeys included Myckie Gagnon, J’Cee Edwards, Sydny Kovar, Kaily Early and Kyndalin Byrd.
