Abbi Price

Abbi Price, a senior goal keeper for the Duncan Lady Demons, delivers a free kick. She was one of two Duncan soccer seniors selected with All-State honors.

Despite a short season and the Duncan Lady Demons soccer team only playing a few games, they were honored with one All-State selection and several All-District postseason honors.

Lady Demons goal keeper Abbi Price was the lone All-State selection for the team while senior Saniaya Smith was an honorable mention for the All-State team.

Price and Smith were also both All-District selections while Kaylee Foster and Paisli Price were some of the underclassmen selected for the All-District honors.

Finishing the year with a 2-1 record. first year coach David Shaw said he was proud of all the honors, including the honorable mention for All-District honorees including Alayna Propest, Annai Huizar and Sarai Huizar.

“I am very proud of all of these girls! I know the season was shortened and that many of their ultimate goals we did not get to pursue, but these awards do recognize their individual hard work and team dedication,” Shaw said. “I am proud of the seniors and their accomplishments.”

Being the goal keeper for several years, Abbi Price got two victories in a row to end the season with a 2-1 record in front of the goal. Shaw said he was happy to see Abbi Price and seniors honored.

“Abbi is just the leading example of the whole group and how they have excelled for four years and their dedication to the game,” Shaw said.

With the season being ended early for the Lady Demons and 10 seniors on the 2020 team, Shaw said that having two underclassmen represented on All-District team is a great honor and is excited for next season.

“For the younger girls, I am so happy for them and it just demonstrates how bright the future of the program is with two sophomores making all district in Pasili Price and Kaylee Foster,” Shaw said. “All of it provides a bright spot to a very disappointing season.”
