Editor's Note: Duncan High School has moved their district game against El Reno today to 6 p.m. due to extreme heat.

After splitting the final day of the El Reno Classic, the Duncan Lady Demons were beat by Eiesenhower 7-1 in a district battle.

Winning 10-4 against Northwest Classen and losing 6-4 to Enid on Saturday, the Lady Demons had to battle back from the beginning of the district game.

The first three hitters reached for Eisenhower with an error giving the visiting Eagles the 1-0 lead.

Eisenhower added one more with a single from their third baseman with a strikeout and ground out to end the threat.

Adding one in the top half of the second, third and fourth, the Lady Demons down 5-0 got some baserunners in the bottom of the fourth.

Kira Pickerell lead off the inning and drew a five pitch walk to be the first base runner of the game for Duncan.

Stealing two bases, starting pitcher Alyssa Childers helped her own cause by hitting a single up the middle.

Trying to make her way to second, Eisenhower was able to throw Childers out despite Pickerell scoring cutting the deficit to 5-1.

Mackenzie Cogburn reached on a grounder to the Eisenhower pitcher which she threw away and got to second base on the throw.

Eisenhower got out of the two out jam by striking out the final batter to keep their lead at four.

Holding them to zero runs in the top of the fifth, the Lady Demons had their best chance in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hannah Harper got the action started with a single through the left side and a walk put two runners on base.

Dani Francis got a sacrfice bunt to move the runners to second and third with two outs in the inning.

A strikeout ended the threat as Eisenhower added one more in the top of the sixth inning.

Down to their final three outs, the Lady Demons needed six to tie and seven for the walk-off victory.

Eisenhower shut down the combeack attempt and sent Duncan packing with the loss.

Now 4-5 overall on the season, the Lady Demons have another district matchup today at 6 p.m. against El Reno at home.
