Duncan Lady Demons softball will continue their extended break after late Monday evening storms and rain Tuesday washed out the district game scheduled against Ardmore.
It was to be the first scheduled game of the week for the Lady Demons after playing a festival Saturday in Moore and will make it to where Duncan only has one game this week.
Sitting at 5-8 on the season, the leading hitter for the Lady Demons is Kira Pickerell who is hitting .370 with six RBIs and is the leading hitter with 10 hits for Duncan.
Emily Mefford, who has been in 12 of the 13 games for Duncan, is second batting .346 as she has drove in nine runs while having nine hits for the Lady Demons in 2019.
Alyssa Childers is the third best hitter for Duncan playing in all 13 games and hitting an even .300 driving in seven runs and is also the leading pitcher for the Lady Demons in 2019.
Childers has eight starts and 4-4 on the season with 27 strikeouts while the second pitcher KK Miller has pitched in 27 innings and has struck out 32 batters while starting in the other five games.
Miller has also been good at bat for the Lady Demons hitting .294 and has eight RBIs while leading the team in doubles with four in 2019.
With the Lady Demons game cancelled, the Lady Demons next game is on the road starting at 5 p.m. Thursday as they take on district foe MacArthur in Lawton.
Ardmore-Duncan remake game is currently scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday Sept. 23rd with the game being at home for the Lady Demons.
