Duncan’s Kylie Greening slides safely into second base during the Lady Demons’ contest against Lawton as part of the Duncan Festival Thursday.

The schedule had the Duncan Red squad facing Lawton, but the Lady Demons biggest enemies stood in their own dugout Thursday.

Committing a handful of errors in the field, the team was overwhelmed by the Lawton offense in a 12-0 loss.

“It was strange because a lot of he same girls played in the game this morning and played really well,” head coach Robert Cowan said. “We just made too many mistakes to put ourselves in a position to win.”

The Lady Demons couldn’t get the offense going, as they were held scoreless while hitting just a pair of singles.

With Chloe Pressgrove leading Duncan Red on the hill, the team’s struggles in the field led to Lawton runs early and often. The team made a handful of errors, allowing its opponent to score in every inning.

Lawton gained an early lead in the first with one run, added to the lead with three scores in the second and blew things open in the third inning with by plating eight more runs.
