Duncan youth wrestlers

Duncan Youth Wrestling Club stands with all of their medals won this past weekend at the Oklahoma Youth Wrestling State Championship.

The Duncan Demon Youth Wrestling Club went to Oklahoma City for the State Tournament and had several top placers along with a few state champions in several divisions.

Duncan’s youth wrestling club placed seventh overall out of 94 teams and was runner-up in their division. They had six state champions and 26 kids place on the medal podium.

The beginner division had four of the six while having one state champion in the girls division and one in the open division.

The state champions are Weslee Frith-girls division, Wyatt Rochell-beginner division, Lanson Tidwell-open division, Christian Gates-beginner division, Evan Sparger-beginner division and Felipe Villarell-beginner division.

Four wrestlers finished in the open division and runner ups were Braxton Thompson, Wyatt Rochell, Evan Sparger, Tag Ensey and Eli Ramirez.

The placers in the open division were: Matthew Hopson- 3rd place, Bryson Tidwell - 4th place, Nathan Henry - 3rd place. Garrett Henry - 4th place, Jayse Ramirez- 5th place and Dayton Cross - 5th place.

In the beginning division there were two runner up wrestlers and six placers for the Demons youth wrestling club.

Runner up in the division were: Weslee Frith- 2nd place and Jordan Jett - 2nd place and the placers were:  Braxton Thompson- 3rd place, Kase Frith - 4th place, Noah Bollig- 5th place,  Bryson Vansickle- 3rd place, Kayden Elix- 2nd place, Aaron McDonnell - 6th place and Carson Vansickle - 6th place.

The team is coached by Rick Adams, Wyatt Adams, Art Wheeler and Weston Firth.
