Duncan Demons baseball was 3-1 on the year before the season was canceled and they have been named Xpress Wellness Team of The Week.

Only getting four games into the regular season, and winning three of those four, gave the Demons baseball team the honor of being chosen as Xpress Wellness Team of the Week.

Duncan got the first victory of the year by beating Guthrie 9-2. Jackson Attaway drove in two runs while Peyton Roberson, Jaxon Gregston and Logan Chase drove one in apiece.

The biggest damage was in the top of the third inning when Duncan, down 1-0, drove in four runs and put up another four spot in the top of the sixth to improve to 1-0 on the year.

In the home opener, the Demons lost to Yukon 11-3 for their only loss of the 2020 campaign. Roberson drove in the only run and the other two runs were scored as errors.

Scoring in the game was Jake McKinney, Blake Barnard and Bryson Brooksher. Brooksher and McKinney contributed two of the three hits and the other came from Hunter Prince.

In what would be the final game of the 2020 season, the only district series completed for the Demons, they hosted a doubleheader against Western Heights.

The Demons got two 12-0 victories with Tate Wilkins and Chase driving in two runs apiece while Roberson, Gregston, Prince and Attaway drove a run apiece.

Pitching in the game was Brance Garrett and he threw a no hitter and struck out nine batters then they went to game two trying to improve their season to 3-1 on the year.

Chase was the big bat in the second game driving in three runs while scoring three times himself going 2-for-2 a the plate and also got help from other sources.

Craig Holt, Barnard, Attaway and Roberson all drove in runs as the pitching game from Hunter Prince struck out five batters on the way to the victory.

The Demons were scheduled to head to Corpus Christi for Spring Break, but that got canceled once the COVID-19 pandemic broke out and after a few weeks the rest of the season was called off by the Oklahoma Department of Education and OSSAA.

Ending the year with a 3-1 record, the Demons will look to try and get back to the State Tournament in the 2021 season.
