The Duncan Founder’s Day king and queen were crowned at their coronation 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Fuqua Park alongside former kings and queens in celebration of Duncan’s founding.


It’s almost time to celebrate the birth of the city of Duncan and subsequently the county, as Founders Day comes closer. One of the major parts of the celebration is the crowning of the Queen and King, which is a little different than most festival royalty because they’re mostly 80 years old and up.

Duncan High School announced the Homecoming Queen Candidates and their Attendants for the winter and spring sports. The queen will be crowned between the girls and boys basketball game on Feb. 1.

The Stephens County Historical Society board is looking for this year’s candidates in advance of their King and Queen crowning this Founder’s Day, which will start at 10:30 a.m. June 24 at the Stephens County Historical Museum.
