The Stephens County Relay for Life team hosted the annual Survivors Dinner for those in the fight with cancer this past weekend. The dinner is an annual event hosted before the actual Relay event so all survivors can enjoy some time of fellowship with others who understand the journey.


A group of cross-continental bicyclists completed their 4,150-mile journey from Tijuana, Mexico, across 15 U.S. states to Saint Stephen, Canada, raising nearly $20,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) along the way. The group stopped in Duncan during one day of the journey.

According to the American Cancer Society, in 2019, there will be an estimated 1,762,450 new cancer cases diagnosed and 606,880 cancer deaths in the United States. Some of those cases and deaths could be members of the Stephens County community.
