As Ronald Reagan once said “There you go again.” The Commissioners of Stephens County just cannot give up on a sales tax to support the Stephens County Fairgrounds and Expo Center.
The Stephens County Fairgrounds and Expo Center should be treated as a business, and should be self-supporting. There are many scheduled events that are held at the Fairgrounds and Expo Center throughout the year. These events should be paying for and supporting the Fairgrounds. The tax payers of Stephens County should not be paying for support of the County Fairgrounds and Expo Center.
Maybe the Commissioners should get with the Chamber of Commerce and schedule more events to support the Fairgrounds. Just a point of view from an old retired veteran who lives on a fixed income.
