As the season would have been well wrapped up for the 2019-2020 school year on normal circumstances, the season abruptly ended in March. Still, Stephens County athletes shined with end of the year honors.
Throughout the year, myself and a couple of freelancers covered the school year and all of the achievements of the athletes in Stephens County.
With all of the awards coming out for All-State, All-Star, All-Area and other honors including college signings, the people who have covered the games are happy to see all of these honors come home.
Even though the season wasn’t completed, we have tried our best to highlight the achievements of the seasons that weren’t completed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This past week, the ultimate honors came in and that was the form of two state championship rings for the Comanche High School wrestling team.
Coach Jason Miller and staff at Comanche High School handed out certificates and rings, which by the way are very nice and a great way to honor their achievements.
While All-State competitions won’t happen this summer, the athletes will still get their jackets and be honored with articles in our paper celebrating their achievements.
The final ones will be posted in next week’s editions. We are happy to celebrate all of the athletes and their achievements for the 2019-2020 school year.
Spring season in Stephens County usually has a lot of teams competing for State titles and we hope that teams getting ready to come back will get ready safely for this next school year.
To all of the All-State, All-Star, All-Area, State Champions and athletes of Stephens County, we hope that you enjoy your honors and are excited to highlight them.
