Duncan Police has a new lead on the Silver Alert issued on June 15, but the search remains ongoing for the missing Margie Pickens, an 84-year-old woman who might be showing signs of dementia.
The Silver Alert came out around 11:30 a.m. on June 15 from Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Duncan Police. Authorities believe Pickens might be in the Elk City area.
Sgt. Layle Baker of Duncan Police Department said a tip came in late in the evening June 15 stating Pickens might have been seen at Walmart and asked for a ride to Elk City.
“I’m assuming — which I hate to do that — I’m assuming she got a ride and may be in the Elk City area,” Baker said. “Those counties and OHP have been contacted and we have a lookout for her. Hopefully we will get lucky and somebody comes across her.”
Police said a family member filed the report and according to information provided to Duncan Police Department, Pickens hasn’t been seen by that family member in about three days.
Pickens is described as a height of 5 foot 4 inches and around 100 pounds, according to information released by the department. No clothing description is available at this time.
Sgt. Baker said if there are any reports of Pickens whereabouts to contact him at 580-255-2112.
