City of Duncan warned Tuesday, July 9 that while it is not expected to happen, possible power outages could occur over the next few days as upgrades are completed on a transmission line.
According to a statement from the City, the outages, if they happened, would be caused by scheduled upgrade work on an American Electric Power (AEP) transmission line segment which serves Duncan Power substations. Work on the transmission line is set to occur from July 9 through July 12 during business hours only.
“During this time period, we expect service as usual,” reads a statement from City of Duncan. “However, if power is interrupted due to some unforeseen event, all Duncan Power customers would be without power until the repairs are completed.”
On the off chance an outage does occur, Duncan Power crews will be standing by and ready to spring into action to help facilitate restoration of power to customers as quickly as possible.
“This is planned work and we do not anticipate any service interruptions,” states City of Duncan.
