Hands of Hope Housing held an open house for one of their most recently-renovated homes in Comanche on Sunday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The home, which was donated by the First United Methodist Church in Comanche, was remodeled mostly from donations from the community.
Every appliance during the remodel of the home’s kitchen was donated by multiple benefactors, with donations making up the majority of the remainder of the home as well.
The home will provide a spacious, comfortable transition for up to five women who wish to transition from negative environments.
The organization helps women transition from prison, jail or other negative environments by providing safe housing for those who show a sincere desire to have Christ active in their lives.
“We believe in second chances,” Hands of Hope said in a flyer, “and the community house will be a place where that second chance can become a new life.”
Hands of Hope Housing is an organization within Christian Helping Hands. CHH is a non-profit organization funded by private contributions from individuals. CHH also runs food pantries in Bray, Central High, Comanche, County Line, Empire, Loco, Marlow and Velma.
