One vehicle was struck by a southbound train near Fuller Rd. at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday.
While under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) also responded. According to Sheriff Wayne McKinney, the railroad crossing there does not have arms, but the driver was not attempting to race the train, the driver “just didn’t see it.”
McKinney stated the driver was “shaken but not badly hurt.”
The driver was taken to Duncan Regional Hospital by private vehicle driven by a relative. McKinney was unsure if the driver had been treated and released as of press time.
