Oklahoma Highway Patrol G was on the scene of an early Thursday morning wreck involving a 17-year old pedestrian who was pronounced deceased at the scene near Rose Road and Highway 81.

According to the OHP report, the collision occurred around 12:47 a.m. on U.S. Highway 81 2/10ths of a mile north of Rose Road and approximately 8/10ths of a mile south of Marlow city limits.

Highway 81 closed down three minutes later and stayed closed until 4:05 a.m. while the scene was being investigated.

The 17-year old juvenile was from Laurel, Mississippi according to the OHP report and was pronounced deceased at the scene suffering from massive injuries and was transported to the medical examiner’s office.

The name of the 17-year old has been withheld, but according to OHP the immediate next of kin had been notified as of 5:30 a.m. May 30.

Investigation is still on going and authorities identified the driver of the vehicle in the accident as Cristy L. Rose from Chickasha.

She had no injuries and along with the passenger in her car were being treated and had no injuries according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s report.
