Community leaders met with employees and leadership of Family Dollar’s distribution center Thursday afternoon to celebrate the company’s time in Duncan.
The celebration of employees, city officials and company leadership marked 20 years of service in the Duncan community.
The General Manager for the distribution center, Dave Clevenger Sr., said 20 years was a special mile marker for the company.
“We are proud to commemorate this special occasion with our team of talented and extremely motivated individuals,” Clevenger Sr. said.
Clevenger Sr. thanked Duncan, which was represented by Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation President and CEO Lyle Roggow, Duncan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Chris Deal and Duncan City Mayor Ritchie Dennington.
“The support we have received from our business partners and the Duncan community has been critical to our success,” Clevenger Sr. said. “We look forward to many more future milestones.”
Dennington read a proclamation specially crafted for Family Dollar and its 20 years in Duncan.
“Duncan Family Dollar distribution center opened in May 1999 and shipped its first case of product on July 2 that same year,” Dennington said. “The opening of the distribution center generated growth … (and has helped) City of Duncan in the development of our community.”
