Planning a movie night, a gathering of family and friends or a kids party? The Duncan Public Library now offers “binge boxes” full of themed movies for a fun-filled night.
Amy Ryker, Library Director, said Binge Boxes are a bin of movies with a similar theme, genre or setting.
“Currently, we have available Binge Boxes with a Horror theme, Westerns, and Family Fun featuring Talking Animals (for kids),” Ryker said. “We’re working on several more to be out in the next couple of weeks, including 80’s faves, Rom-Coms and more.”
Ryker said grabbing a Binge Box from the library will save time, allowing library staff to pack your customized “Binge Box.”
“The way to check them out is similar to how you buy a TV or furniture,” Ryker said. “There’s a card on the shelf listing the items in the Binge Box you want, so you can still browse to see if that’s what you’re looking for, then when you’ve chosen the box for you, just bring the card up to the desk and we’ll check out the full Binge Box to you.”
According to Ryker, the Binge Boxes contain a number of items to check out, so only one per household is typically allowed.
“Also, they can be borrowed for two weeks instead of the usual one week,” Ryker said.
According to Ryker, the library will change out themes regularly so there’s always something new with the boxes.
Ryker said they alway appreciate any donations of nice DVD’s to help build their collection.
