A Friday crash near Ninnekah in Grady County has sent one person to St. Anthony’s Hospital in critical condition.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reports, Jerad Snyder, 28, of Duncan, has been admitted to St. Anthony’s Hospital via AMR in critical condition with head, arm and truck internal injuries. The crash occurred around 6:34 a.m. on U.S. 81 just north of Half Penny Road, about 170 feet south of Ninnekah. Reports show he was transported to Duncan Regional Hospital via personal vehicle before AMR moved him to St. Anthony’s.

Reports show Snyder, driving a 2005 Nissan Frontier, was traveling northbound on U.S. 81 when he fell asleep and departed the roadway to the right causing him to impact the guardrail. The vehicle, according to reports, rolled one complete time before coming to a rest.

The “sleepy” condition of the driver was determined as the cause of the collision, reports state. OHP, Grady County Fire Department and Chickasha EMS responded to the scene.
