Break out your dancing shoes or at least your favorite wear as the Duncan Senior Center hosts a fundraiser “Dancing through the decades.”
The United Way agency is hoping to raise money for a new van since the vehicle is on its last leg… or tire.
Board member Mynan Hutto said the van is often used to take seniors to doctors appointments and bring people to the Senior Center for lunch and the other activities. The van is a resource for many seniors who are no longer able to drive to help them have some independence by scheduling a ride without having to get family or other friends to help them.
The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 14 at First United Methodist with tickets at $25 each. There will be a dinner and live entertainment from some Oklahoma City dancers “The Lindy Hoppers,” “The City Alley Cats” and “Swing ya Oklahoma City.”
The event is also going to feature keynote speakers Rep. Marcus McEntire, Rep Brand Boles and Sen. Paul Scott.
The center is encouraging people to dress up in their favorite decade as there will be some prizes for best dressed.
Tickets are on sale now at the senior center located at 1110 N. 7th Street, or call 580-255-6902.
