A Tuesday evening crash on State Highway 53 near Comanche is under investigation by Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
Reports from OHP state the collision happened around 8:30 p.m. at State Highway 83, just a half mile west of 2800 Road. The accident included a 1998 Dodge Pick-up and a 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by Zane J. Riley, of Comanche.
Trooper documents show the identification of the pick-up driver is “under investigation.”
Reports indicate the truck was headed eastbound on State Highway 53 while Riley drove westbound on the same road. Documents say the driver of the truck went left of center “for unknown reason” and collided with Riley’s car. Riley received transport from AMR to Duncan Regional Hospital where he was admitted in fair condition with head and trunk internal injuries, reports state.
The condition of the driver of the pick-up which caused the collision is still under investigation, reports state.
Comanche Police Department, Comanche Fire Department, AMR and Stephens County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
