Women’s Haven, a United Way agency, is seeking volunteers to be a part of the fight against domestic/sexual violence and stalking in Stephens and Jefferson counties.

Volunteers provide many of the services offered by Women’s Haven. Limited funding restricts the number of paid employees available to the agency: therefore, volunteers play a vital role in providing services.

Volunteer duties include answering the 24/7 crisis line after hours (which can be done from volunteer’s home), fundraising efforts, public relations work and office work when needed. Volunteers provide support that is necessary to help people transition from violent situations, and there are a variety of opportunities to serve at the agency’s resale shop.

Training is required, and Women’s Haven will schedule training in the near future. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and actively empowering victims, or if you are interested in assisting at the resale shop, contact the Women’s Haven office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at (580) 252-5324.
