A two-day event filled with social distanced fun will occur on Main Street Duncan this weekend.
Destiny Ahlfenger, Executive Director of Main Street Duncan, said the upcoming wine festival will take place at 10th and Main.
The Wine’n in the Chisholm Trail Festival will open to patrons on Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12.
From 5-10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, Main Street Duncan will host their dinner under the Oklahoma stars. Dinner will be served from 6-9 p.m.
If attending on Friday night, patrons can come back for free from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.12.
Those who attend will get a chance to enjoy samples from only Oklahoma wineries for an entry fee of $10. According to the Main Street Duncan website, there will be vendors, live demonstrations and food trucks available all day.
The Italian style dinner under the stars will be catered by R&S Drug for $30 per person.
This year, Friday’s meal will consist of disposable-ware in compliance with new regulations.
“In compliance with some new changes happening, we will have increased social distancing amongst the tables, we will disinfect the tables and chairs in-between uses, among many other things that our volunteers are taking precautions to do,” Ahlfenger said.
Important information to remember:
There will be disposable cups (glassware available online), disposable food serving dishes, hand sanitizing stations throughout the festival, distancing tables which are six-feet apart, water stations with volunteers disbursing bottles, hospital grade disinfectant used on all surfaces between uses, and cash accepted, unless state mandated otherwise.
According to a recent posting, the wine will be from only Oklahoma wineries and patrons can enjoy live musical entertainment.
There will be a separate close-by area for those under the age of 21 at this event.
“Your support of this organization goes toward the grants we provide to our small business owners,” Ahlfenger said.
The Wine’n on the Chisholm Trail will take place at 10th and Main Street in downtown Duncan, in the southeast corner of the intersection, located under the Crapemyrtle Mural.
