Heat, air and love has one family overjoyed with gratitude for their loving community.
This year’s recipient of a free Lennox Unit under DeHart’s association with the “Feel the Love” program lives in Velma with her two daughters.
Keisa Sutton and her two daughters, Khloe Johnson, 12, and Layken Dawson, 9, from Velma, felt the love of their community upon receiving a new heating and air conditioning system Friday morning.
Sutton said she is just really excited to by nominated and chosen for this brand new system.
“I am super excited — one reason is Khloe received a lung transplant last May,” Sutton said. “She has Cystic Fibrosis and getting a new air conditioning system with a new GPS system that helps fight bacteria, kills it at the coils, that’s just another thing that helps me assure that her lungs are staying good and healthy.”
Sutton, along with her daughters, have been incredibly thankful to the community around them.
“I am just super excited that we got nominated, the community has already done so much for us with benefits,” she said. “I would’ve never imagined that we’d be getting a brand new air conditioning and heating system. We’re just super thankful to be chosen.”
Lennox’s Feel the Love program is designed to give one remarkable citizen a new heating and air conditioning system designed to meet their needs.
DeHart Air installed two new systems for their Feel The Love Day on Oct. 9.
Sheri Rice, Branch Manager of DeHart, said this is their second year as part of the Feel the Love program.
The program expanded this year when they donated two systems, one in Chickasha and one in Velma, up from the single unit donated last year.
After 100 years of business, Rice said DeHart works to do their part to give back to the communities, to help people out and pay it forward.
“The homeowner, her mom is the the one who nominated her,” Rice said. “She’s a single mother with two children.”
With one daughter with Cystic Fibrosis and having to keep things extremely clean, the new system will help this family out, Rice said.
“Putting in a new heating and air system is going to help that out to keep some of the dust and debris out of the house and have a system that’s working for them,” Rice said. “Right before we did this their furnace had just quit on them.”
With perfect timing, DeHart was able to get a fully functioning system in place for the family.
After becoming aware of the Lennox’s Feel the Love program, DeHart was moved by what the program offered, according to Rice.
The whole idea behind giving back and doing something for well-deserving people enticed those working at DeHart.
Mark DeHart said, “by partnering with Lennox, being able to do the donation, both labor wise and equipment wise — is a deal for the recipient, no doubt.”
Lennox and DeHart both furnish the equipment for recipients, according to Rice.
“Lennox donates one component of the equipment and we donate the other component and all of the labor and everything else involved — so it’s 100% free to the homeowner,” Rice said. “It’s a really amazing program to just kind of take that step and help somebody else out and give them the gift of heating and air.”
In Chickasha, crews installed another unit at the same time.
“Our Chickasha recipient was an older gentleman,” DeHart said. “We’re very excited about it … We’ve just been very blessed over the years, gaving gotten to deal with amazing people along the way and heard some amazing stories.”
From July to August, people can go to www.feelthelove.com and nominate someone they feel is deserving of a new heating and air system.
