A collision east of N2920 Road in Stephens County resulted in one person going to the hospital Thursday evening.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) the collision happened around 5:12 p.m. on Thursday, April 29 on Old Highway 7, east of N2920 Road just 5.5 miles east of Duncan.
The report shows two vehicles were involved, including a 2015 Dodge Durango driven by Ashley Beck-Henderson (SIC), 29, of Duncan and a 2008 Ford Ranger, driven by Joseph A. Chasteen (SIC), 44, of Duncan.
According to OHP, the cause of the collision occurred when Henderson’s vehicle “attempted to enter onto county road 1740, but failed to yield to” Chasteen’s vehicle.
Troopers state both vehicles collided in the west bound lane of Old Highway 7.
Reports indicate that Chasteen was trapped inside of the vehicle for about 15 minutes, and he was extracted by the Velma Fire Department and the Jaws of Life.
Air Evac transported Chasteen to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in fair condition with trunk internal and leg injuries.
OHP received assistance from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Velma Police Department, Velma Fire Department and Velma EMS.
