Stephens County’s active case count for COVID-19 shows there are now 259 active cases, down nearly 20 from Monday, according to stats released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH).
As of Tuesday, the county added only four new confirmed cases, bringing the total count of confirmed cases to 1,178, of which 12 have died and 907 have recovered, leaving 259 active cases in Stephens.
Duncan and Marlow still have the lead for active cases. Duncan has had 767 confirmed cases, seven deaths and 604 recoveries, leaving 156 active cases in the city.
Marlow is up to 227 confirmed cases, one death and 154 recoveries, leaving a total of 72 active cases.
Comanche has had 140 confirmed cases, three deaths and 116 recoveries, leaving a total of 21 active cases.
There are three towns listed in the single digits for active cases.
Velma has had 29 positive cases, one death and 24 recoveries, leaving four active cases in the town while Loco has had nine cases, no deaths and six recoveries, leaving three active cases in the town
The State Department included Bray for the first time in the city-by-city count. The town currently has one case listed with no deaths and zero recoveries, leaving one active case.
The other two active cases in Stephens County are currently listed in the “other” category, according to the State Department of Health, which includes more rural areas of Oklahoma.
Statewide there was a total growth of 1,551 cases to bring Oklahoma’s confirmed total to 158,408 as of Tuesday’s report.
There were six new deaths reported to bring the total up to 1,544 total deaths with none of the deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
Those deaths were from:
One in Canadian County, one female in the 65 and older age group.
  • One in Cleveland County, one female in the 65 or older age group. 
  • One in Delaware County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
  • One in Garvin County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
  • Two in Tulsa County, one female in the 65 or older age group, and one male in the 65 or older age group. 
Active cases in the state were down by 350 for a total of 28,807 active cases. Recoveries were up by 1,895 for a total of 128,057 recoveries so far.
Johns Hopkins in the Monday report on the nation, illustrated a growth of 166,045 cases for a total of confirmed 11,202,980 cases so far in the United States.
Deaths were up by 988, according to the Monday report, bringing the country’s death total related to COVID-19 to 247,202. Active cases increased by 95,130 for a total of 6,710,967 active still.
Recoveries for the country also increased by 69,927 to bring the recoveries total to 4,244,811 throughout the pandemic.
