State surpasses 100,000 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases

Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) released Monday that Oklahoma surpassed the 100,000 mark for positive cases. OSDH recorded 100,184 in Monday’s report.

That same report showed Stephens County gain three new positive cases to bring their total to 526 confirmed cases so far. The county, so far, has had six deaths, with the latest reported on Saturday, though demographics on that person has not yet been released.

On the county level, there have been 440 recoveries, up four from Sunday, leaving active cases in the area at 80.

Duncan has had 340 of those positive cases, four deaths and 291 recoveries, leaving the city at 45 active cases.

Marlow stayed at 90 positive cases and no deaths but added two recoveries, bringing the total to 73 recoveries and 17 active cases.

Comanche’s numbers stayed the same day over day as they have had 80 positive cases, one death and 68 recoveries, leaving 11 active cases.

Velma also stayed the same with 15 positive cases, one death and 10 recoveries, leaving four active cases.

Loco’s numbers stayed the same as they have had two positive cases, no deaths and one recovery, leaving one active case in Loco.

While there was a growth of 797 cases to bring Oklahoma’s total over 100,000, the statewide death total only grew by six with only one recorded in the last 24 hours to bring that total to 1,104. Those six deaths reported from the State Department of Health include:

  • One in Cleveland County, one female in the 65 or older age group. 
  • One in Custer County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
  • One in Garvin County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
  • One in Oklahoma County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two in Tulsa County, one male in the 36 - 49 age group and one male in the 65 or older age group. 

Active cases in the state only grew by 46, leaving 13,815 active cases, according to the report. There were 745 new recoveries to bring the state recovery total to 85,265.

Johns Hopkins county report for Sunday showed a growth of 44,614 positive cases for a total of 7,762,546 in the nation. Deaths increased by 398 for a total of 214,768 in the U.S.

The country’s active cases grew by 32,122 to bring the active case count to 4,472,701 while recoveries were up by 12,094 to have a total of 3,075,077.
