Red River Technology Center’s administration has confirmed the arrest of a person who is accused of threatening the facility late Monday night.
RRTC Superintendent Dennis Loafman confirmed the threat in the early Tuesday morning hours, stating the campus administration learned of the threat around 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, prompting them to contact law enforcement and close campus all day Tuesday, Jan. 7.
“An arrest has been made regarding yesterday’s threat to students at Red River Technology Center,” reads a statement from RRTC. “We are not aware of any other threats at this time.”
Red River will return to normal session Wednesday, Jan. 8.
“Thank you to the Duncan Police Department for your commitment to our community and to the safety of our students,” states RRTC administration.
Lt. John Byers with Duncan Police confirmed the one in custody and said they're working on search warrants and should have more information Wednesday.
