City of Duncan Power, Cotton Electric and PSO (Public Service Company of Oklahoma) have released information regarding rolling blackouts taking place this morning.
The blackouts, according to power companies, are "an emergency load reduction request of" the Southern Power Pool (SPP), which manages the regional electricity grid.
According to Duncan Power, the first location has been selected and the power outage will last for about an hour. The first location without power is published in the map attached. City of Duncan asks community members to shelter in place during this time.
PSO states their power outages will last about two hours each and Cotton Electric states the interruptions will be temporary.
All of the power companies urge their customers to conserve power where they can.
The Banner will continue to publish information as it becomes available.
