Oktoberfest

Kochendorfer Brewing Company (KBC) will celebrate Oktoberfest from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Sept. 23 and from noon to midnight on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the brewery located at 1155 McCurdy Road in Duncan. The evening will feature an array of food, Beer Olympics and entertainment for all ages.

Duncan’s local brewing company will pull out all the stops with a celebration in full German tradition and style this coming weekend.

Kochendorfer Brewing Company (KBC) will celebrate Oktoberfest from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Sept. 23 and from noon to midnight on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the brewery located at 1155 McCurdy Road in Duncan. The evening will feature an array of food, Beer Olympics and entertainment for all ages.

Festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday with the Oktoberfest beer release. Then, at 6 p.m., a braut toss will begin and at 8 p.m. there will be a stein holding contest.

Features throughout the night will include Oktoberfest music, corn hole, other outdoor games and photo opportunities, along with traditional German food options from local vendors onsite.

Oktoberfest will continue at noon the following day. At 2 p.m. Beer Olympics will begin and participants must have pre-registered to compete.

Saturday’s events include A Beer Mile, Keg Toss, Keg Press, Flip Cup and Das Boot Chug, which will see $40 from each team donated to Gabriel's House Foundation.

Throughout the day, several other contests will ensue. At 4 p.m. another stein holding contest will take place, then, at 5 p.m. another braut toss.

Staff encourage guests to dress in their Dirndl and Lederhosen as a “Best Dressed” contest will take place with prizes for men, women and children, according to a release.

Later that evening, at 7 p.m., the Keg Press contest will kick off followed by the keg toss contest at 7:30 p.m.

At 8 p.m. ceremonies and recognition of the winners will close out the event and from 8-11 p.m. live music will play by Chloe Beth.

Local vendors including Big Belly Deli, Charity’s Sugar Shack and LT’s Funnel Cakes will setup on the grounds. Other food options include bratwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad, pretzels with KBC beer cheese, cinnamon sugar pretzels, KBC stout cake balls, beer mug cookies and funnel cakes.
