Empire Public Schools announced Monday that a student at Empire High School has tested positive for COVID-19 and the district is in touch with the Stephens County Health Department.
On their social media page, the district announced the Health Department will contact students and parents if they’ve been exposed.
The post also stated that according to Health Department regulations, the name of the student will not be released and the district is following the guidelines set by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Currently, no extra curricular activities are canceled but the district is monitoring the recommendations from the Health Department.
As more information is provided to the district, they will update patrons of the district and the district itself will not tell staff or students that they will be quarantined. That information will come from the Health Department.
