The Duncan Little Theatre will serve up a sweet treat as they present their “Dessert Theatre” show in September at the Marlow Opera House.
The DLT’s most recent comedy productions will feature loads of laughter all about being quarantined. Cindy Mann, director, said this year’s production will feature two short plays with an intermission between.
The show will take place on Sept. 17-18 and 24-25. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m.
“At intermission we serve free dessert,” Mann said. “We auction off some sweets and some baskets for fundraising to cover our expenses.”
This year’s comedy productions include “10 Ways to Survive Quarantine” and “Hard Candy,” which are directed by Cindy Mann and produced by Beth Anne Hough.
According to Mann, “10 Ways to Survive Quarantine” is set up as a Zoom meeting with different people and how they are surveying the quarantine.
The second show, “Hard Candy,” is all about a series of job interviews.
The productions will help provide a little dose of comedy in life.
“In a stressful time that we’re going through right now,” Mann said. “It is great entertainment and we all need some laughter and it’s finding comedy during a stressful time.”
Mann said the production will take place at Marlow Opera House, across from Giuseppe’s Italian Dining.
“It’s a venue that both we volunteers and our patrons really enjoy,” Mann said. “It’s an older building with a lot of personality.”
The Marlow Opera House is located at 100 N. 2nd Street, Marlow.
Tickets for the production are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military.
Mann said the production is pay at the door and opening seating, with recommendations on getting to the Marlow Opera House at 7 p.m. to pick seats.
The production will have hand sanitizer available for patrons.
As this is a Dessert Theatre, dessert will be offered at intermission.
