Due to weather, the Duncan Little Theatre (DLT) production of “Little Footsteps” will reschedule their performances for 7:30 p.m. on March 11-12 at The Moose Lodge, located 1712 W. Seminole Road, in Duncan.
The production is under the direction of Beth Ann Hough and is produced by Tana Latham. The show stars include Carra Spigner, Garrett Nichols, Latham and Darrell Ashford, who also serves as a stage manager, according to DLT.
The cast and crew will use the play to compete at the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association state competition and possibly at the American Association of Community Theatre regional competition later this spring.
According to a release from DLT: “‘Little Footsteps’ by Ted Tally is the story of a young couple who is expecting their first child. Joanie is a care-free artist while her husband Ben is working to support the family. Both young people have a different view of what this thing called ‘parenting’ will be like.”
As the couple tries to work together to “figure it all out,” all does not, actually, turn out, however, “there is hope as the two are influenced both positively and negatively by Joanie’s parents, busy-body mother Charlotte and easy-going dad Gil.”
“In the end, Joanie discovers the ‘mother’ that was waiting deep inside and Ben must grow up and embrace fatherhood whether he’s ready or not,” DLT states. “This play is a 60 minute competition piece and it does contain some adult content. This is a journey you won’t want to miss.”
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military personnel, however season tickets are available. According to DLT, season tickets include admission to each production in the season on the date of your choosing as well as a bonus admission to a Chisholm Trail Arts Council performance. The cost of season tickets are $45 for seniors and $60 for adults.
Purchasing a DLT Membership “helps support the Children's Theatre Experience which brings a free theatre production to over 4,000 students in Stephens County each year, as well as the Teen Theatre and Kid's Curtain Call summer workshops that expose students to set building, acting, costuming, and props,” states DLT. DLT Members also receive free admission to one CTAC performance and receive free costume rental.
The cost of 2021 membership levels are: $5 — Student Crew, $50 — Technician, $100 – Actor, $150 – Star (includes one season ticket), $250 – Stage Manager (includes two season tickets), $500 – Director (includes four season tickets), $1000 and up – Producer (which includes eight season tickets).
Season tickets and memberships can be purchased on the DLT website or can be paid for via mail by mailing to DLT, PO Box 531, Duncan, OK 73534.
