The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center’s (CTHC) newest featured artists, Polly Thurston and Kelly Yarbrough, currently have artwork displayed in the Garis Gallery of The American West. The exhibit, "Restoration Work: Landscape Explorations," will feature both artists’ artwork through Feb. 27.

Embracing one’s heritage through the diversity of art has inspired many to get creative with their work, including two artists who will showcase their work in a local gallery for viewers to peruse. 

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center’s (CTHC) newest featured artists, Polly Thurston and Kelly Yarbrough, currently have artwork displayed in the Garis Gallery of The American West.

The exhibit, "Restoration Work: Landscape Explorations," will feature both artists’ artwork through Feb. 27.

With a common theme for the new year, featured artists work will coincide with a geography theme, as well as all artists being from Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

According to a release, during 2022, the gallery will see each of the three states, with the “Three States One Trail” theme. Furthermore, the gallery will explore “the diversity of art and artists along the legendary Chisholm Trail.”

CTHC is located at 1000 Chisholm Trail Parkway in Duncan and current operating hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.

In other news, CTHC has their senior Sundays on the second Sunday of every month with admission free for seniors 55 and older.

Other discounts include, the heritage center’s participation in Museums for All, where anyone with a EBT card can receive $2 per person admission for us to four people, with identification.
