The Stephens County Commissioners met Monday, Feb. 22 for their regularly scheduled weekly meeting during which they discussed a bid, approved pay claims and a cooperative agreement.

The Board reopened one bid and discussed awarding the lowest and best bid for the purchase of one 16-foot cargo trailer, which would be delivered to the Duncan Fire Department. The bid was for a price of $6,866 for delivery in mid-October.

After discussing the bids, the board voted to reject the bid due to delivery time, and they agreed to look around more and seek other options.

From there, the Board approved four ODOT Pay Claims for:

• 0.21 acres of Public Highway Easement Project: Tributary to Black Bear Creek for $600;

• and acres of Public Highway Easement Project: Tributary to Black Bear Creek for $500 where all parcels are located in District #1.

The board then approved a cooperative agreement for the purpose of making conservation works of improvement to diminish erosion and siltation of the right-of-way between Zachary Pineira and Stephens County. The county will remove trees, stack on landowner’s property and blade bar ditch for four-tenths of a mile along the west boundary of Section 4, Township 2 North, Range 7 West located in District #1.

In other news, the board approved two Stephen County Fair and Expo agreement contracts for a birthday party to take place in the Prairie Room on March 6, and for the Michael Miears Antique Auction hosted in Territory Hall on Feb. 12-13, 2021.
