County Commissioners

The Stephens County Commissioners met for a regular meeting during which they discussed a service agreement with Sparklight, as well as regularly scheduled business items on the agenda.

During the meeting, county officials discussed and approved a business service agreement between Sparklight and Stephens County for business internet 300, located at 1001 W. Elm in Duncan. 

Next, the commissioners discussed the Circuit Engineering District Policies for participation in the Graham Online Auction hosted on Nov. 11-13, 2021, which was also approved.

Then, the county commissioners approved three Thanksgiving dinners which will be hosted at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center; one for the Community Dinner event hosted in the Harvest Room on Nov. 12-13, one for the Thanksgiving Dinner event in the Heritage Room on Nov. 21 and one for the Thanksgiving Dinner event in the Harvest Room on Nov. 21.

Finally, Commissioner Morgan gave his update on the fairgrounds.

Morgan said they have commissioner training at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

“Should be some reps and senators there to talk about ARPA money and REAP,” Morgan said.

In other news, the County Commissioners approved:

• To execute a County Deed property in Duncan.

The Stephens County Commissioners meeting will convene again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15 in their office of the Stephens County Courthouse, located at 101 S. 11th Street.
