During the regular meeting of the board of Stephens County Commissioners, the three person board tackled an election and pursued a property before the holiday.
The board entered into executive session to discuss the property they are looking to obtain for the courthouse to create additional parking.
The board received the appraisal of two properties earlier this month near the courthouse.
The first property is located at 1204 W. Maple.
The next property is two lots located at 1014 W. Maple. One is already a paved parking lot which abuts a grass lot.
After coming out of session, they took no action at this time.
Next the board set the filing and election dates for the open seat on the Stephens County Fair Board.
The Fair Board is made up of three elected persons from each district for a total of nine members.
The vote for those positions will be for residents of each of the districts with the polling places as follows: District 1 — County Barn, located at 1208 S. Railroad St.; and District 2 and 3 polling place is the Fairgrounds and Expo Center.
