A Stephens County man is in the Stephens County jail and facing accusations of making lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16.
According to court records, Rodrick Earl Harris Jr., 27, of Comanche, is accused of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16, which is punishable by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for not less than three years nor more than 20 years.
Court records indicate the reports against Harris Jr. came in on July 8. The victim said the incident happened while they were at the home playing video games with their friend and Harris Jr. was there.
After the report came in from the victim, Harris Jr. was interviewed by police and told them he didn’t remember anything from the night before when it allegedly took place.
In an interview with police, Harris Jr. said he “woke up for work … and noticed that his coffee table was broken and there was a hole in his wall that was not there before,” and that “when he entered the bathroom (he) noticed the cabinet was ripped off the wall.”
While Harris Jr. “said he didn’t remember doing anything the night before” police noted in their report he “did not resist anyway” when he was arrested.
Harris Jr.’s bond is set at $100,000. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing conference at 9 a.m. Sept. 8, 2021.
