A local bank has partnered with food banks for the 11th annual Million Meals campaign, set to begin in April.
Arvest Bank will partner with Lawton Food Bank, Christians Concerned in Duncan, Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry, Elgin Community Food Bank and Walter Food 4 Kids.
The two-month campaign will begin on April 5 and continue until May 29.
According to a release, the campaign is a “bank-wide effort to provide one million meals or more to those in need within the bank’s footprint.”
The program launched in 2011, and they have supplied 17,068,971 meals in the past 10 years. A release states, “more than $3 million in funds has been given directly to the bank’s dozens of local food partners.”
The campaign will help provide meals for local families in need of a few meals.
According to a release, “every dollar raised through Million Meals provides the equivalent of five meals for local, hungry families.”
