Oklahoma State Department of Health numbers released Thursday indicate another growth in Stephens County’s active COVID-19 case numbers as the area now shows over 300 active cases.
In the county, there has been 1,277 positive cases with 12 deaths and 957 recoveries so far, leaving a total of 308 active cases. Duncan and Marlow remain the top two cities in the county with the most active cases.
Duncan currently has the most active cases. The city has had a total of 823 positive cases, seven deaths and 628 recoveries so far, leaving a count of 188 active cases as of Thursday.
Marlow, so far, has had 258 positive cases with one death and 170 recoveries, leaving 87 active cases.
Comanche ranks third in the county with 145 positive cases, three deaths and 122 recoveries, leaving 20 active cases.
The rest of the county is in single digits for active cases.
Velma so far has had 33 positive cases, one death and 26 recoveries, leaving six active cases.
Loco has had 11 positive cases with no deaths and six recoveries, leaving five active cases while Bray is still at one active case with no recoveries listed yet.
On the state level, there have been 2,915 new cases reported to bring the total of cases since the pandemic started to 164,340. There have been 18 new deaths to bring that total to 1,588 deaths in the state.
Out of those 18 deaths, none of them have been recorded in the last 24 hours and are from:
• One in Bryan County, one male in the 50-64 age group.
• One in Choctaw County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Cleveland County, one female in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Comanche County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Lincoln County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in McCurtain County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Okfuskee County, one female in the 65 or older age group. 
• Four in Oklahoma County, three females in the 65 or older age group, one male in the 50-64 age group. 
• One in Okmulgee County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Pontotoc County, one female in the 65 or older age group. 
• One in Rogers County, one male in the 50-64 age group. 
• One in Tillman County, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
• Three in Tulsa County, one female in the 65 or older age group, one male in the 50-64 age group, one male in the 65 or older age group. 
Active cases in the state, however, are only up by 661. Oklahoma currently has 30,484 active cases while recoveries were up 2,236 for a total of 132,268 recoveries so far, according to the Health Department.
Wednesday’s report from Johns Hopkins shows a growth of 170,161 cases on the national level, bringing the total to 11,527,483 confirmed cases in the United States so far. The death total related to COVID-19 has passed the 250,000 mark with 1,848 new deaths recorded to bring that total to 250,520 deaths related to COVID-19 in the country.
Active cases in the country are up by 111,164 day over day for a total of 6,926,174 active cases, while recoveries were up by 57,149 for a total of 4,350,789 recoveries in the country.
