The Boy Scouts of America Troop 4417 is ready to butter up the community as its annual Pancake Feast heads into its 50th year in Duncan.
The annual event is from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at First United Methodist Church. Ticket sales are $7 in advance and $8 at the door, but kiddos four and under will eat for free.
Funds from ticket sales help the Scouts with their camp scholarships or expenses necessary as part of the organization, including camp our fees or equipment they may need. The rest of the money goes to the Scouts as a whole for the Troop expenses fund, used for items like new tents or chuck boxes or on upkeep up the bus.
On a normal year, the Troop will flip over 1,100 pancakes for the community, complete with sides of sausages and bacon and juice, milk or coffee to wash it down.
Because this is the Golden Anniversary of the event for the Troop, the organization will feature a slide show of the Feast in years past. Community members who are or were members at anytime during the history of the group who would like to share pictures for use in the slideshow can contact the Troop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
