Deadline for absentee ballots today

DUNCAN — Applications to receive absentee ballots to  vote in the primary elections must be received by the Stephens County Election Board by 5 p.m. today, said County Election Board Secretary Angela Dunagan.

Voting to determine Republican and Democratic nominees in the Nov. 4 general election will be on Tuesday.

Early voting in the party primary elections begin Thursday and continue through Saturday, Dunagan said.

Early voting will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the county courthouse in Duncan and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on  Saturday.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
