Trash collection to halt for city wide garage sale

DUNCAN — There will be no trash collection Friday in the City of Duncan because of the World’s Largest Garage Sale. The citywide garage sale runs Friday and Saturday and brings in an influx of people to the community.

Because of the large amount of traffic due to the sales, Waste Connections garbage trucks would have some difficulty getting down residential streets. And with additional people on the roadways, it could be potentially hazardous for trash collection during the World’s Largest Garage Sale.

Beginning Monday, garbage pickups will return to the normal schedule.

For information, call the City of Duncan at 580-252-0250.

Poll

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
