National Hospital Week kicks off at Duncan Regional

DUNCAN — Duncan Regional Hospital is celebrating National Hospital Week.

Throughout the week, staff has been treated with an ice cream social and a roving candy cart thus far.

Today, team members and their families are invited to The Palace Theatre to enjoy movies and snacks.

To wrap up the week, a barbecue luncheon will take place on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. for hospital staff.

National Hospital Week has also taken social media by storm. On Wednesday, the American Hospital Association (AHA) celebrated doctors and hospital staff through Twitter with the hashtag #HospitalWeek. This viral chat had Health Care Expert Maulik Joshi for a  conversation about the dedication of hospital staff and some case studies.

During the week, AHA also used other social media websites such as Facebook in a profile image takeover. This means that users of these social media websites were encouraged to change their profile picture to the blue “H” hospital logo to recognize all hospitals and their employees until May 17.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
