Dovie Huckabaa

March 28, 1941-May 5, 2014

DUNCAN — Dovie Marie (Biffle) Huckabaa, of Duncan peacefully passed away early Monday morning, May 5, 2014 at her home. She was 73 years old. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church, with Bro. Steve Gillispie officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m.

Dovie was born March 28, 1941 in Comanche to Roy and Ruby (Youngblood) Biffle. She and Howard “Pete” Huckabaa were united in marriage on March 6, 1959. 

Dovie loved flowers, she enjoyed camping at the cabin in Broken Bow; going to the beach at Galveston, and going to garage sales. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, and attending all their activities. Dovie always saw the good in each and everybody. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Pete, of the home; four children: Vicki Myrick and husband Clyde of Spring, Texas; Brenda Webster and husband Dennis of Humble, Texas; Donna Wright and husband Montie, Ryan, Okla. and Keith Huckabaa and wife Crystal of Duncan; 13 grandchildren: Jimmy Webster and wife Sarah, Zachary Webster, Ashley Jackson and husband Steven, Kevin Schiller, Cam Myrick and wife Stephanie, Terri Myrick and husband Daniel, Shannon Mercer and husband Chris, Amy Wright, Brittany Wright, Audrey Wright, Caitlyn Huckabaa, Bryan Huckabaa, and Mason Huckabaa; eight great-grandchildren: Aaron Webster, Stephen Webster, Brent Webster, Brianna Webster, Nicole Webster, Ethan Malpass, Andrew Brown Myrick, and Jace Jackson; one brother, Price Biffle of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters-in-law: Winnie Biffle of Duncan; Joyce Biffle of Woodward, Okla.; and Dora Biffle of North Carolina; a step-sister, Shirley Bush and husband Jerry of Claremore, Okla.; a step-brother Ronnie Williams and wife Patsy of Bethany, Okla. and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Roy, Robert, Lee, Jerry, and Charlie Biffle.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
