Craft show to offer a little bit for everyone

DUNCAN — Duncan Crafts, Arts and Hobbies Association will hold its annual craft show at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center this weekend, with vendors from throughout the state coming to display and sell their work.

The event will take place Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Charles Donaghe, president of the Duncan Crafts, Arts and Hobbies Association, said 24 vendors are signed up for the show.

He believes more will sign up before the show opens.

“We have one coming from Ponca City, several from Lawton and two from Frederick,” Donaghe said. “We’ve got a lot of out-of-towners.”

Donaghe said the vendors will have things like ballpoint pens, walking canes, jewelry, flower arrangements, pinatas, quilts, bracelets and children’s toys among many other things.

“There will also be lots of Mother’s Day stuff available since that’s coming up,” Donaghe said.

Door prizes will also be given out at the event every hour, including donations from Arbuckle Fried Pies and items donated by local crafters.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
